Five Tips for Naturally Beautiful Skin

Modern life has increasingly become fast paced. Trends are changing quickly, deadlines at work approaching faster than you can meet them, and hasty exchanges of messages are causing information overload. The speed at which people are living their lives now is causing more stress to build up, which not only leads to burnout at the office or at home but also haggard skin.

In an age where everything is expected to instantly take effect, it pays to step out from all the rush and give yourself a break. Taking care or pampering yourself does not require a trip to the spa, because here are five quick and simple tips on how to take care of your skin naturally from home.

  1. Sleep for at least eight hours

Having inadequate sleep not only makes you feel cranky, impatient, and moody during the day—it also makes your skin appear “tired”. Saggy and dull skin are just two side effects of not getting enough sleep. If done repeatedly, you risk the formation of dark circles under your eyes that may only be completely removed by a tear trough filler treatment.

  1. Drink plenty of water

Professionals recommend drinking at least eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated. Water is good for your skin because it keeps your skin naturally moisturized, especially during harsh summers and skin-drying winters. Besides water, fruits that are high in water content, like watermelon and cantaloupes, are also acceptable, and even recommended sources of hydration.

  1. Apply sunscreen even on a cloudy day

News flash: UVA and UVB still attack the surface of our skin even on a cloudy day. Despite appearing muted on an overcast day, these harmful ultraviolet rays are still as harmful on a bright, sunny morning. Use at least SPF 15 when stepping out and use an umbrella when necessary. Excessive and reckless exposure to UV rays causes early signs of ageing, like wrinkling and the appearance of age spots.

  1. Exercise and sweat it out

The health benefits of exercising regularly are directly related to beautification as well. Since physical activities like working out or even just going out jogging improve blood circulation and cause you to perspire, they help in unclogging and expelling otherwise tough oil deposits in your pores. Of course, do not forget to exfoliate and moisturize after all that.

  1. Remove makeup thoroughly

Many women would agree that removing makeup at the end of a very long and tiring day at work is a hassle. However, bear in mind that not thoroughly removing makeup exposes you to blemishes, blackheads, and even acne, if done habitually. Rinse your face with soap and warm water or put a hefty amount of your trusted makeup remover on a cotton pad and dab gently.

There is no magic to beautiful skin

Like everything hard earned, there are no shortcuts or magic tricks to having naturally beautiful skin. The five tips above are just a few of the many things that need to be done routinely, to ensure that you do not just live healthily, but also live comfortably in the skin that you love.
